THE COMPLETE JOURNEY

The Coastal Shield Process

Each project is different, but the communication path should remain clear. These stages explain the usual homeowner journey without promising identical materials, payment schedules, start dates or assemblies for every project.

  1. 01
    STEP 01

    Start With a Conversation

Whether you have an active leak, storm damage, aging shingles, damaged decking, or simply want to understand your options, the process begins with a conversation. Contact SOS by phone, chat, or our estimate form and tell us what you are seeing.

    • Emergency roof help
    • Roof repairs and replacement
    • Storm-related damage
    • Commercial roofing
    • Property or remodel needs
    • Inspection or estimate requests

We are built for fast response and clear next steps, so you are not left wondering what happens next.

  2. 02
    STEP 02

Understand Your Roof and Your Options

We inspect the roof, identify the visible problem, look for contributing issues, and explain what needs to happen next. You will receive a clear explanation of the recommended work instead of being pressured into a decision you do not understand.

    • Roof covering condition
    • Leaks, valleys, flashing and penetrations
    • Edges, ventilation and decking
    • Storm or wind damage
    • Repair, replacement and potential concealed conditions

What we quote is what we plan to charge, subject to concealed conditions, owner-approved changes, and the terms of the written agreement.

  3. 03
    STEP 03

Choose the Payment Option That Fits

Once you understand the recommended work, we explain the available ways to pay for the project. Options and terms vary by project and approval.

    • Cash or check according to the written agreement
    • Accepted credit or debit card
    • Approved credit options for qualified customers
    • Financing solutions through available partners or programs
    • Insurance proceeds when a covered loss and carrier process apply

SOS can explain the roofing scope and help you understand the work needed, but we do not guarantee insurance coverage, claim approval, settlement amounts, or payment timing.

  4. 04
    STEP 04

Approve the Plan and Schedule the Work

Once the scope of work and payment path are approved, we move the project into scheduling. Depending on the project, scheduling begins after we receive the required deposit or initial payment, or after the necessary insurance authorization and project permission have been received.

    • Written scope is approved
    • Payment or financing path is established
    • Required deposit or initial payment is received, or insurance authorization is confirmed
    • Project scheduling begins
    • You receive the next expected milestone

We do not schedule a project based on a verbal promise alone. Once the required approval, authorization, or initial payment is received, we secure the project on the schedule and begin preparing for installation. Exact start dates depend on materials, weather, permitting, labor availability and project conditions.

  5. 05
    STEP 05

Prepare, Build and Protect Your Property

After your project is scheduled, we order the approved materials and prepare for installation. Our team completes the work according to the agreed scope, applicable requirements, manufacturer instructions, and the roof assembly selected for your property.

    • Materials are ordered for the approved scope
    • A project superintendent provides frequent oversight
    • Landscaping, driveways, walkways, vehicles and outdoor areas receive reasonable protection
    • Weather, material availability, permitting and concealed conditions are communicated as they arise

Our goal is not simply to install a roof quickly. It is to complete the work carefully, monitor the details, and leave the property in an orderly condition.

  6. 06
    STEP 06

    Final Walkthrough and Project Completion

When the installation is complete, we clean the work area and review the property before the project is closed out. We do not consider the job finished simply because the roof covering is installed.

    • Complete cleanup of the work area
    • Use magnets to help remove loose roofing nails from grass, driveways, walkways and surrounding areas
    • Walk the property with you and answer questions
    • Document and address legitimate punch-list items according to the written scope and agreement
    • Handle remaining balance according to the written payment terms
    • Invite an honest review when you are satisfied with the completed work

Roof complete. Property cleaned. Homeowner informed.
